Eit forsvar for Wikileaks
Eg kan ikkje vere den einaste som er litt rysta over den massive demoniseringa av Wikileaks. Internasjonalt er det gått heilt bananas. Politikarar som Mike Huckabee og Sarah Palin snakkar om henhaldsvis dødsstraff og samanliknar med Al-Qaida, rådgjevaren til den kanadiske statsministeren ville ha ein “fatwa” mot Assange (sjå Aftenposten) og ein sentral kommentator i Washington Post som Charles Krauthammer skriv dette. Enno verre er det at fleire land vil vedta lovgivning som hindrar dei å operere, at amerikanske instituasjonar ber folk om ikkje å besøke sidene deira og at dei mistar kommersielle samarbeidspartnarar som bankar og Paypal.
Er vi totalt ute av stand til å halde ein spegel opp foran oss sjølve og sjå korleid dette ser ut, berre dagar før vi skal dele ut fredsprisen til Liu Xiabo?
Mange er høge og mørke om ytringsfridomen i Kina og Iran, men i den augneblinken det rammar vestlege myndigheiter går rullegardina ned.
Gjennom historia har makta – som eg som stortingspolitikar er ein del av – alltid motsett seg meir openheit. Og tapt. Eg trur ikkje vi angrar ved ein einaste korsveg. Makta har alltid fordømt lekkasjar. Men var lekkasjane som avslørte at USA visste om at Irak ikkje hadde masseøydeleggingsvåpen feil? Var lekkasjane som leidde til ein ny gjennomgang av Treholtsaka feil?
Vi må tåle å bli eksponert for ytringsfridomen sjølv, med eit innhald og metodar vi ikkje alltid likar. Det er då du får testa om du verkeleg forsvarer den.
Eg ser på angrepa på Wikileaks som angrep på openheit og ytringsfridomen. Eg er ikkje samd i alt Wikilekas gjer, og meiner det skal vere mogeleg med hemmeleg rapportering frå ambassadar til UD. Men eg vil forsvare retten Wikileaks eller aviser har til å offentleggjere viktig informasjon som kan avsløre lovbrot, maktmisbruk eller viktig offentleg informasjon.
Det gjer dei no på ein måte som framstår seriøs og gjennomarbeida. Det er målretta lekkasjar i samarbeid med verdas beste aviser som må følge redaktørplakaten og gjere ei vurdering av innhaldet før dei publiserer. Mange uviktige ting kjem fram, men så langt ikkje noko eg kan sjå trugar verdsfreden. Og viktigast: Det kjem fram ein heil del viktig. Denne informasjonen bør så kritisk vurderast og må tåle å testast mot andre versjonar og anna informasjon i offentlegheita.
Det er verdt å minne om formålsparagrafen til Wikileaks: “Our primary interest is in exposing oppressive regimes in Asia, the former Soviet bloc, sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East, but we also expect to be of assistance to people of all regions who wish to reveal unethical behaviour in their governments and corporations.”
Heldigvis kjem det no ei rekke reflekterte analysar som kritiserer den internasjonale fordømminga.
Fra The Guardian: “What WikiLeaks is really exposing is the extent to which the western democratic system has been hollowed out. In the last decade its political elites have been shown to be incompetent (Ireland, the US and UK in not regulating banks); corrupt (all governments in relation to the arms trade); or recklessly militaristic (the US and UK in Iraq). And yet nowhere have they been called to account in any effective way. Instead they have obfuscated, lied or blustered their way through. And when, finally, the veil of secrecy is lifted, their reflex reaction is to kill the messenger.”

Hvor går grensen mellom "gode lekkasjer" og spionasje? Hvorfor er det Wikileaks lekker bra, mens det Treholt lakk er spionasje og landsforræderi? Hvor mye skal Wikileaks få lov til å tråkke på individers rett til privatliv og sikkerhet slik de har gjort med diplomatene i Cablegate-skandalen?
Jeg kan si meg enig i at endel lekkasjer har ført til positive ting, men hvem kontrollerer kontrollørene? Du svarer redaktører i innlegget ditt, men pressen kontrollerer ikke Wikileaks, de bestemmer bare hvor mye omtale de vil gi dem.

Det er ikke yttringsfrihet å publisere stålne hemligstemplete dokumeneter.
Du mener kanskje Treholt drev i yttringsfrihetens tjeneste, du ?
En annen sak er at Wikileaks driver ensidig publisering av USAs hemlige dokumenter. Hva med de andre landene ? Blir det ikke ensidig når bare en side blir eksponert slik det gjøres ?
Eller – du er kanskje glad det er ensidig så lenge det går ut over USA, du ?

Hovudforskjellen på Wikileaks-lekasjer og Treholt er (som du sikkert ser sjølv) er jo sjølvsagt at den eine lekk til offentlegheita, mens den andre lekk til ei anna statsmakt.
I praksis (internasjonalt) er nok denne forskjellen større enn den kanskje høyres ut som.
Men eg er heilt einig med deg, og har stillt meg litt av dei same spørsmåla rundt Wikileaks. Kva er bra lekasje? Kva er dårleg? Kva er viktig? Kva er farleg?
Eg har tidleg (bl.a. i J.W. Aas artikkel) at eg tykkjer det blir feil å sidestille Wikileaks med tradisjonelle medier, av den grunn du nemner her: redaktør-/redaksjonansvar.
Samtidig er Wikileaks noko nytt, eit nytt medium, og trengs kanskje ikkje sidestillast med tradisjonelle medier(?) Eg er, som bloggforfattaren, ikkje einig med alt Wikileaks gjer, men mykje er bra. Ein etisk debatt om Wikileaks rolle trengs (ein debatt Wikileaks er villig å høyre på), ein debatt som tar hensyn til Wikileaks som eit nytt type medium og ikkje sidestiller Wikileaks med tradisjonelle (og gamle) medier.

Da får ikke bare statsmakten man spionerer for dokumentene, men også alle andre som ikke skal ha det.

Wikileaks kan ikke publisere annet enn de dokumentene de får tilsendt av utro tjenestemenn. De utfører ingen spionasje selv og jeg synes det er rart å holde dem ansvarlige for noen "balanse" i hvem de lekker fra. Dessuten har wikileaks holdt på lenge, og gitt ut mye som ikke har med USA å gjøre. Det har bare ikke satt dagsorden i samme grad.

Selvfølgelig gjør Wikileaks det!
Dette er som å forsvare heleren fordi det er tyven som stjal. Det blir bare tull.
Saken er enkel : Folk som ikke skal ha tilgang til hemmelig informasjon har fått det og gir det videre til USAs motstandere som Nord Korea, Cuba, Venesuela og alle andre.
La oss ta et litt mer hjemlig eksempel : Jeg får tak i legejournalen din og jeg får tak i papirene fra de besøkene du har hatt hos NAV.
Om du var arbeidsledign, sykemeldt, psykiske problemer eller hva det var.
Og på min Facebook side publiserer jeg alt sammen.

Du har rett i at den tradisjonelle pressen ikke kontrollerer Wikileaks. Jeg synes likevel det er et godt poeng at Wikileaks i forkant av de offentlige lekasjene har delt materialet med 5 av de største aktørene i bransjen (Le Monde, El Pais, The Guardian, Der Spiegel og The New York Times)[1]. Dette for å få rådgivning om hva som er presseforsvarlig å lekke. Her viser WikiLeaks om ikke annet en godvilje til å la "kontrollørene bli kontrollert".

Det blir jo et helt absurd tankeeksperiment. Personvern og statshemmeligheter er ikke direkte sammenlignbare størrelser. Reelt innsyn i statsmaktens aktivitet er en nødvendighet for at borgere skal kunne delta i demokratiet, mens en lekkasje og offentliggjøring av mine personopplysninger ikke har noe å gjøre med å opprettholde maktbalansen i samfunnet.

En annen ting er dette med statsmaktens aktiviteter for å delta i demokratiet.
Igjen – dette er bare tull! Vi har noe som heter diplomatpost f.eks. Hvorfor det, tror du ?
Vi har noe som heter militære hemmeligheter. Hvorfor det tror du ?
Vi har en regjering som selv hemmeligstempler et notat internt på regjeringssjefens kontor (DnbNor saken).
Mener du ta regjeringen vår undergraver demokratiet ? Eller er det nødvendig å holde ting hemlig av og til ?
Og – når det gjelder maktbalansen i samfunnet ville offentliggjøring bidratt til dette dersom de også hadde publisert Kinas, Russlands, og alle andre lands hemligheter.
Å publisere bare en blir en skjev fordeling og ubalanse fremfor balanse.

Andreas: desverre ser det ut til at du som så mange andre er totalt blottet for oversikt over hva som faktisk er tilfellet med Wikileaks, og derfor blir innlegget ditt ikke noe annet enn stråmmansargumenter som ikke fører noe sted hen.
Dine to hovedpunkter:
1) "Hvorfor er det Wikileaks lekker bra, mens det Treholt lakk er spionasje og landsforræderi?" – Treholt-saken handlet om en utro tjener sitt betalte oppdrag for en annen nasjon for å systematisk stjele og videreformidle statshemmeligheter. Det er ikke det Wikileaks har gjort. Det gjør det to helt vidt forskjellige ting, og viser at du ikke aner hva du snakker om.
2) "Hvor mye skal Wikileaks få lov til å tråkke på individers rett til privatliv og sikkerhet slik de har gjort med diplomatene i Cablegate-skandalen?" – som de sier på Wikipedia: citation needed. Hvor har de tråkket på individers sikkerhet? Jeg må nesten minne om at Wikileaks gjentatte ganger var i kontakt med amerikanske myndigheter om å få en oversikt over hva som burde sensureres av personinformasjon før innholdet ble offentliggjort. USA svarte aldri på disse. Videre må du klare å skille mellom beskyttelse av privatpersoner og offentlige tjenestemenn: det innholdet som er tilegnet enkeltpersoner er skrevet og formidlet i offentlig øyemed – det var jobben deres. Det er altså ikke snakk om hva de gjør som privatpersoner, men hva de gjør som statsansatte. Det at de trodde opplysningene ville forbli hemmelige for alltid er trist for dem, og selvagt: naivt.

Det er snakk om offentliggjøring av hemmeligstemplet matriale.
At det etter offentliggjøring viser seg om det er privat materiale, offentlig, personangrep eller hva spiller liten rolle.
Utgangspunktet er om det forsvares at folk som ikke har sikkerhetsklarering får tak i sikkerhetsgradert materiale.

Nei. Som skattebetaler og bidragsyter til velferdssystemet har du rett til å vite i hvilket omfang det jukses. Og dersom NAV vet at det jukses i stort omfang, men holder det hemmelig har du også rett til å vite om det fordi det er informasjon tilliten din til systemet er avhengig av. Det har derimot ingen verdi å gi alle fullt innsyn i enkeltsaker i folketrygdsystemet fordi det ikke bidrar til å styrke tilliten til systemet, og hensynet til den personvernet for de som ikke jukser er viktigere enn å marginalt øke sjansene for å ta de som jukser.
Irak- og Afganistan-loggene viste at USAs statsapparat løy eller villedet om omfanget av skader på sivilsamfunnet i landene hvor det ble drevet krigføring, og ved å beholde informasjonen som statshemmeligheter hindret de at velgere skulle kunne ta reelt stilling til hva de demokratiske valgene i landet skulle handle om.

Jeg erkjenner at det er nødvendig å holde mange ting hemmelig. Det du ikke erkjenner er at hemmeligholdet er et maktmiddel som både muliggjør villedelse fra politikere og korrupsjon. Gjennom å bryte hemmeligholdet har vi fått innsikt i løgn og villedelse fra politisk hold, og ambassadelekkasjene viser at amerikanske myndigheter har brukt diplomatiet til å gjøre etterretningsarbeid.
Jeg er enig i at det skaper en ubalanse at bare amerikanske hemmeligheter er frisluppet, men wikileaks kan ikke slippe hemmeligheter som ikke er lekket til dem. Og når de sitter på informasjon som viser at politisk ledelse i USA villeder og lyver om skader og tap de påfører sivilbefolkningen i kriger de deltar i på fremmed jord så har wikileaks et moralsk ansvar for å dele denne informasjonen så de ansvarlige kan holdes ansvarlige. Forhåpentligvis vil offentliggjøringene også følge til at flere utro tjenere i andre stormakter tør å følge etter og at vi får muligheten til å se flere lands regjeringer i kortene.

Det er snakk om å offentliggjøre stjålet hemmelig materiale.
Om det er politietterforskninger, legejournaler, regjeringsdokumenter eller statshemmeligheter spiller ingen rolle.
Diskusjonen er om det er rett å offentliggjøre stjålet hemmeligstemplet materiale. Og jeg mener det ikke er det.

Bare husk at du kun får se USAs materiale.
Du vet ikke noe om de truslene andre utgjør og hva de driver med, hva de spionerer på og forsker på.
Derfor blir det for enkelt å forsvare lekasjen når man bare ser det ensidig.
Skulle offentliggjøring forsvares måtte det også sees i lys av f.eks. Irans hemmelige dokumenter, slik at det ble en bred informasjonsspredning og man kan vurdere hva som er rett og galt ut fra alle opplysningene.
Ut fra det som nå er så ser man kun en liten del og det å dømme ut fra manglende bevis holder jeg meg i allefall for god til.

Ikke alltid enig med deg, men det her var bra! Nuvel, jeg er ikke enig med politikere av prinsipp.
Skulle igrunnen likt å sett hva de andre partene i lekkasjen skrev hjem, jeg har ikke mye tro på at det de skrev var hverken mer balansert eller etterrettelig.

Det jeg mener med at det blir ensidig kan du se godt i det du skriver om Irak og Afghanistan.
Hva om f.eks. Syriske dokumenter ble offentliggjort og viste at de hjalp til med å få ut Saddams masseødeleggelsesvåpen ?
Det ville satt saken i et helt annet lys, ikke sant ?
Og da ville man kanskje si at det ikke var helt feil å si at Saddam hadde MØV ?
Derfor mener jeg at det er for ensidig å vise bare en side av saken og i allefall å konkludere noe som helst pga dette.

Dette tilsier jo at du hverken vet noe om hva som publiseres og hvordan, eller om Wikileaks generelt.
Trehold spionerte for en annen stat. Det er ikke det Wikileaks driver med, og det er ikke det samme som offentliggjøring av bevis for drap, tortur, spionasje og korrupsjon.
Skal man fremstille det på den måten vil enhver avsløring media kommer med være å anse som spionasje. Da må du dra journalister som Neil Sheehan, Carl Bernstein og Bob Woodward over i samme kam. De også publiserte hemmelig informasjon.
Og du har tydeligvis ikke den fjerneste anelse om hvem Wikileaks er, så hvorfor uttaler du deg bastant? Wikileaks driver ikke med ensidig publisering. Du kan i dag laste ned et fullstendig arkiv av det Wikileaks har publisert over 4 år.
Ta for eksempel den første publiseringen Wikileaks kom med. Det var ordre om snikmord fra Sheikh Hassan Dahir Aweys i Somalia. Siden den gang har lekkasjene dreid seg om alt fra korrupte banker, svindlende religioner og tvilsom klimaforsking.

jeg er ganske sikker på at du ville kalt det ytringsfrihet, hvis noen fra kina, kuba, NK eller lignende hadde publisert slikt materiale om sitt land. vanlige folk som fordømmer Wikileaks har ett altfor naivt syn på USAs politikk.

Nå er det vel slik at det ikke finnes noen regjering i norsk historie som har hindret innsyn i offentlige dokumenter i så stor grad som denne. Det fremstår som noe ironisk med tanke på teksten ovenfor.
Men jeg merker meg at prioriteten ligger på å kose seg og rettferdiggjøre alt som er negativt for USA. Når kommer blogginnlegget om datalagringsdirektivet?

Takk for et meget bra balansert innlegg. Jeg er veldig enig med deg. Wikileaks legger ikke ut dokumentene for å skade noen, men å avsløre grove overtredelser som at USA ønsker DNA-bevis fra alle toppene i FN og Wikileaksavsløringen i våres der to Reuter journalister blir drept. "Blowing the whistle on war crimes is not a crime"
Når det gjelder Treholt så gav han hemmelige opplysninger videre til Sovjet, ikke til pressen for å bli offentliggjort. To helt forskjellige saker.

Jeg er rystet over likegyldigheten til prinsippene i pressen! Hvor er alle medarbeiderne i all presse som nå virkelig burde slå ring rundt Wilileaks og retten til fri flyt av informasjon som prinsipp i et demokrati, uansett hvor den kommer fra? Har pressen blitt så intitusjonert og komersialisert at individuell personlighet og utvikling, teller mer enn prinsipper? Svaret ser ut til å gi seg selv. Man spiller på lag med øvrighet, og er ikke lenger det man burde være. Wikileaks har våget det dere skulle og burde ha gjort, og setter press på etikk til de som gjør det de ikke burde ha gjort.
Vi både vil ha og trenger Wikileaks over hele verden. Vi vil ha sannheten kort og godt!

Selvfølgelig ikke!
Det er en grunn til at ting er hemmeligstemplet og at kun graderte mennesker skal ha tilgang til den informasjonen.
Når jeg sier at det er ensidig så er det fordi det kun er USA sin informasjon som blir lekket og dermed også kritisert.
Som jeg spør et annet sted i tråden : Hva om Syrisk etteretning hadde kommet ut og at det stod der at de hjalp Saddam med å transportere vekk masseødelseggelsesvåpnene hans.
Ville ikke det satt hele saken i nytt lys ?
Men – nei. Det er kun fra et land og det danner et skjevt bilde.
Som i en rettssak : Er det bare en part som får vist sin side kan det umulig bli objektivt.
Om undersøkende journalistikk er jo det bra. Men – de skal ikke offentliggjøre hemmeligheter! De kan bruke hemmelighetene mot de som de intervjuer og som bakgrunnsmateriale, men utlevering av statshemmeligheter skal man bare ikke bedrive.

helt enig med stig solberg, media i norge praktiserer ikke ytringsfrihet, de er et redskap for maktshavene hvem nå enn de er. Assagne burde bli beskyttet av pressen som en av dem, han gir sniller opplysninger enn hva se og hør gjør om private mennesker stadig vekk. Hadde all media blitt som han så ville vi mye fortere kunne få fred i denne korrupte verden

assagne har ikke utgitt seg for å vite alt, eller ha tilgang på alt, han kan kun gi ut det materiale som han får fatt i. Til flere som hjelper han, dess mer transparent vil hele verden bli, og derved slipper politikerne å sende mennesker i krig for sin egen vinnings skyld.
djevelskapen i verden er stor, får håpe at heckere verden over beskytter han og gir han og hans medspillere mye mye mer å vise oss nisselue typer som har tro på at norge er så rene og ikke korrupte. at flyene ble bestilt lenge før offentliggjøring er bare noe som 90% av den norske befolkning som bruker hodet forstår må være sant. politikere er noen løynere og bedragere som alltid kommer seg unna. flott at assagne kan få dem uthengt mest mulig spør du meg.

Er det greit å gjøre innbrudd i naboens hus, for å sjekke om han har noe ulovlig i huset?
Eller bryte seg inn i et helt boligfelt med 30 hus og så anmelde de 2 som hadde hjemmebrentapparater i kjelleren?
Hacking eller innbrudd er kriminelt – og må straffes hardt.
Borgervern er forbudt. Det er politiets oppgave å etterforske evt. lovbrudd, ikke venstrevridde raddiser etter eget forgodtbefinnende.

Jeg er ingen usa-patriot, men reagerer på dette innlegget. Det kan ikke være slik at hemmelige dokumenter skal kunne publiseres med hjemmel i ytringsfriheten. Finnes det ingenting som er sensitiv informasjon i samfunnet lenger?

Antihacker, WikiLeaks publisere informasjon som de har fått TILSENDT! Flere her som bør få bruke litt mer tid på å undersøke hva de faktisk driver med. Det kan umulig være noen her som forsvarer at USA dreper uskyldige mennesker? Helt fantastisk at Assange og WikiLeaks gjør slik informasjon offentlig, kanskje våkner det flere og skjønner at verden ikke er slik politikere eller media forteller at den er.

Gi en innsats for å bevare ytringsfriheten. Om wikileaks taper denne kampen er det bare det første slaget som blir tapt i kampen om ytringsfrihet. Vi kan ikke la mediene bli styrt av politisk press! Media er til for å hindre at slik press tar plass.

Spionasje har alltid vært straffbart. Hva er så spionasje? Er det blant annet å tilegne seg hemmelige opplysninger? Opplysninger som er konfidensielle og som ikke må lekke ut? Eller skal det være slik at enhver har krav på hemmeligstilte dokumenter og opplysninger? Alt som har sensasjonspreg "slukes" av dagens media. En kan stille spørsmål om de er habile til å uttale seg i og med at de tjener penger på opplysninger som de vet selger og som "massene" vil ha. Nei, noe ansvarlighet og etikk bør det være i et samfunn.

Wikileaks sier de er for ytringsfrihet og åpenhet – så lenge det ikke gjelder dem. Hvis ikke ønsker å støtte dem, da skal du tas og henges ut eller på annen måte straffes – litt slik som Kina driver med i disse dager. De to kvinnene som har anmledt Julian, var opprinnelig tilhenger av Julian, blir nå hengt ut med bilde og fullt navn av Wikileaks støttespillere samt drapstruet. De blir fremstilt som horer og å stå bak svertekampanje. Dette viser bare hvilket kvinnesyn Julian og hans tilhengere har. Virkelig noe å støtte. Har også notert at SV-topper stiller seg bak dette! Når jeg gikk på skolen lærte vi at Pressen var den 4 statsmakt og en viktig garantist for et fungerende Demokrati. Hva skjer når Pressen nå bøyer seg for Myndighetene og lar seg kontrollere av Børsen? Makten samles på noen få hender som i dag kontrollerer mye mer en det som godt er. Hvis en person i en bedrift oppdager noen råtne egg så oppfordres han til å bli en "Varsler" ikke av bedriften men av samfunnet. Hva er forskjellen på dette og det som skjer nå? Har vi ikke et behov for en Presse som prøver å grave fram råtne egg i politiske, militære, økonomsike og andre makt apparat? Slik det fungerer i dag så er jo Pressen blitt et redskap for myndigheter og store bedrifter… Det er jo bare å se på eierstrukturen så skjønner en jo hvorfor det blir slik. Takk til de som støtter Yttringsfriheten og tør å varsle om ting som lukter… Hva er egentlig meningen med Yttringsfriheten hvis den ikke blir brukt til å komme med informasjon som noen ønsker å holde skjult…?

Dei som lek informasjon er som oftast ein del av den organisasjonen dei varslar om. Dei varslar fordi dei ser at det foregår noko ulovleg. Altså har dei ikkje på førehand brutt seg inn nokon stad; dei har gjerne hatt tilgang på noko, dei har hatt moralske kvalar ved det dei veit om, og difor valt å bryte teiingsplikta si overfor organisasjonen, sidan dei meinte samfunnet burde få vite om det.
Ei meir korrekt samanlikning: om naboen din, herr Fritzl, hadde hyra deg for å reparere vasken/PC-en/noko og du kom over ein unge som skreik frå ein låst kjellar, ville du sagt det var etisk gale å varsle om det du hadde funnet?

Hvorfor var du ikke rystet da pressen ble truet til å ikke trykke tegninger av en såkalt profet som levde på 600 tallet? Du synes altså det er greit å vise "respekt" ved å ikke trykke karikaturer av en latterlig figur fra middelalderen, mens du "blir skremt" av at det finnes visse motforestillinger mot å trykke dokumenter som er stjålet og deretter overlevert til et nettsted hvis agenda kun er å spre mest mulig dritt om den vestlige verden? Det overrasker meg ikke. Sosialister har aldri vært forkjempere for frihet og rotter seg sammen hver gang de finner en anledning til å kritisere vår eneste garantist for frihet.
Jeg synes rent prinsippielt at Wikileaks ikke burde forfølges fordi jeg er for en fri presse, men å late som om denne organisasjonen har noen ideell agenda og samtidig unnlate å forsvare yttringsfriheten nå den trues DAGLIG av islamister er intet annet enn rent HYKLERI!

Når det gjaldt karikatursaken så mener jeg at yttringsfrihet som prinsipp ble satt opp mot andre verdier på en veldig spesiell måte. Det var nesten som å velge mellom yttringsfrihet og å tvinge noen til å drikke gift. Denne valgsituasjonen medførte at yttringsfrihet som de aller fleste i de islamske land kanskje ikke engang hadde hørt om før ble markedsført på en veldig uheldig måte, særlig fordi arabiske statskontrollerte medier ikke akkurat bidro til å forklare dette prinsippet for de store folkemassene. Det var etter min mening noe som talte mot å være veldig dogmatisk forsvarer av yttringsfriheten den gang. For å ta en parallell, man sender ikke sado-sex filmer med ballesparking rundt til sjetteklassinger som sexopplysning, selv om de som liker ballespark og sado-sex både har rett til og liker disse aktivitetene. Det er rett og slett en litt for brutal måte å introdusere sjetteklassinger for "blomsten og bie" delen av privatlivet. Det at man tenker litt praktisk gjennom situasjonen betyr ikke at man ikke er prinsippfast.

Jeg har ikke tatt stilling til sak, person eller land i mitt innlegg, men kun til prinsipper og satt spørsmålstegn ved pressen generelt og ikke bare i Norge når det gjelder fravær av værn om disse prinsipper. USA er et av de land som alltid har slått ring rundt dette prinsippet, men pressen der er nå nesten tyst i så måte? Er vi i ferd med å miste den 4 statsmakt, er vi og på god vei til å miste sannheten som igjen åpner for skremmende perspektiver. Da spiller det liten rolle om du er venstre eller høyre vridd! Og om man tror at Hemligstemplet er synonymt med et lands interesser, så hadde fortsatt Nixon vært en god og rettskaffen president.
Våkn opp, og ivareta dine egene interesser som vanlig borger uansett land du bor i.

Dere som mener det er feil å publisere stjålet hemmeligstemplet materiale. Skal si dere har stor tillitt til maktapparatene, og det har dere lov å ha, men ærlig talt, hvis noen hadde f.eks voldtatt deres barn og politiet henlegger saken, og en anonym person gir dere sikre bevis som kan dømme forbryteren, ville dere med hånden på hjertet sagt “nei, det er feil å bruke disse bevisene”? Dette eksempelet skal kun illustrere at de som sitter på makt rundt omkring IKKE bare er noen engler, men faktisk kan missbruke sine posisjoner. Man må se helheten her, og ikke forkaste all informasjon fordi den er hemmeligstemplet!

Er STOR forskjell mellom ytringsfrihet og det å dele ut et lands hemmelige og klassifiserte dokumenter. Dette burde du av alle forstå. Blir skremt av disse små bloggene som ikke forstår problemet med wikileaks og måten det har blitt gjort på.
I Norge risikerer du et langt fengselsopphold om du går ut med dokumenter/historier/teknisk kunnskap som er hemmelig, og som kan skade forsvaret. Hvordan er dette anderledes fra hva wikileaks har gjort?

Det riktige i en slik situasjon ville naturligvis å gå til politiet og rapportere det.
Det samme med alle disse dokumentene.
Når man mener at de dokumenterer lovbrudd så bør det anmeldes. MEN det er påtalemyndigheter og domstoler som skal dømme, IKKE fordi noen anarkister/kommunister mener det beste er å offentliggjøre det. Det er uansett ikke ok å ta loven i egne hender.

Mange skriv som om Wikileaks kritikklaust publiserer alt dei har. Slik er det jo ikkje, dokument er redigerte, mange personopplysningar sladda o.s.v. At alt ikkje er like vesentleg er ei anna sak, men massemedia køyrer jo også iblant fram skandaleoppslag som t.d. skjellsordbruk i staden for det som er det politisk og etisk viktige i innhaldet.
Sjølvsagt trengst det høve til diskresjon i diplomatiet, men det er ikkje det dette handlar om. Det viktigaste er at løgn, bakvegar og maktbruk i storpolitikken vert synleg, og her syner Wikileaks at det er nok å gripa tak i.
Så takk til Solhjell for eit klårt og prinsipielt ryddig standpunkt som står fast på ytringsfridomen som verdi i seg sjølv – og er tydeleg på kven og kva den først og fremst skal tena.
Om makta skjelv for Wikileaks, så seier det truleg like mykje om kor roten makta er.
