Eg hadde eit konstruktivt møte med IFPI og ein representant for Gramart i dag. Konstruktivt fordi vi er mindre fundamentalt usamde enn eg først frykta, og fordi eg oppfatta dei som særs opptekne av at det skal kome betre modellar for å formidle musikk på nettet. Der vi skil lag er nok i spørsmålet om det er eit gode med deling dersom vi kan finne ein betalingsmodell, og i spørsmålet om det er naudsynt og ønskeleg at den enkelte forbrukar betaler. Eg oppfatta dei likevel opne også her, mellom i høve til modellar som dei vi ser i NDLA.
I dag har også IKT-Norge sendt eit brev til ei rekke aktørar i bransjen der dei argumenterer for ein veg vidare i debatten som baserer seg på å finne alternative modellar for spreiing og betaling. Eg har ei sterk kjensle av at debatten vil gå i denne retning. Spørsmålet kom også opp i Storingets spontanspørretime i forrige veke.

Mitt selskap er også medlem av IFPI og jeg er glad for at det var et bra møte. Det er derfor det lønner seg med samtaler, og at man ikke alltid skal stole på det man leser i pressen.
Om dere skal engasjere dere i arbeidet med en betalingsmodell haster det. Selv om vi i musikkbransjen har hatt flere års forsprang på de økonomiske krisetidene så er det av kritisk betydning at det skjer noe i overskuelig fremtid. Dette kan ikke utredes i all evighet.
Regner med at ditt engasjement er velment, men det må gjøres med kunnskap/innsikt og samarbeid med bransjen. I mellomtiden trenger vi positivitet og fremtidstro fremfor negativitet og å se for mye tilbake i tid.
PS. Hva synes du forøvrig om en av lærerne på min datters skole som konsekvent – i tredje klasse – ikke retter stavefeil, orddeling eller lærer barna om forskjellen på og/å?
Du må gjerne jobbe for flere ting på en gang, som musikkbransjen og en god skole, men noen ganger kan det også være greit å kvalitetssikre det aller mest fundamentale, hva som skjer i øyeblikket her og nå, før man skynder seg inn i drømmer om fremtiden.
