The The kalla Matt Johnson sitt musikkprosjekt. Alltid med ei rekke ulike musikarar, og alltid med full styring sjølv. Også etter at han danna eit slags band mot slutten av 80-tallet. Ein stor individualist er han nok. Karrieren er full av musikalske endringar, kranglar med plateselskap og sære påfunn. Han er også ekstremt politisk, noko du kan sjå på nettsida hans og høyre på platene.
Han har gitt ut fleire fine plater, men Infected er i ein særklasse meiner eg. Popfølelse, industrielt beat og rockealbum på ein gong. 8 gode låtar, alle med musikalsk og tekstleg særpreg. Låtane er ulike, men utgjer ein flott heilskap. “Out of the Blue” held eg for å vere ei av dei verkeleg fine rockelåtane. Swans-medlem Roli Mosiman produserer, og har nok mykje å seie for beatet som pregar plata.
Det vart laga viedoar til alle låtane på plata. Alle har same regissør og ei felles ramme og form som gjer ein langfilmfølelse når ein ser dei etter kvarandre. Her er to (legg merke til Neneh Cherry i den siste):

Du presenterer mye musikk jeg også har hørt mye på. Denne plata husker jeg spesielt godt, takk for at du minnet meg på den! Den gikk mange runder på spilleren min en gang i tiden. Musikken er spesiell og litt vanskelig å plassere musikalsk. Selv har jeg 45 Rpm, som vel er en samleplate. Men jeg har lyst til å utfordre deg til å ta fram en flott norsk plate fra 1988 – Electrobugs: Om 100 år er allting glemt, (Veps forlag). Jeg finner lite om dem på nettet, og det er nok den eneste plata de ga ut. Klarer du å finne noe å legge ut om dem blir jeg glad!
